Residence Burglaries
There have been several burglaries off campus including one occurring in the 800 block of Cherokee. Due to a pattern of activity and a suspect description, this alert is being issued.
SUSPECT’S DESCRIPTION:
A black male, 5’8”, 200 lbs., was seen inside the residence.
No suspect vehicle has been observed.
TUPD and NOPD have increased patrols in the area and are working together to solve these crimes.
TAKE A STAND AGAINST CRIME
1. LOCK doors and windows of residences and vehicles always.
2. KEEP keys to residences and vehicles in a safe place at all times.
3. CHECK lighting to be sure the area is illuminated; shrubbery to be sure it cannot be used as a hiding place.
4. BE AWARE of your surroundings at all times.
5. COMMUNICATE plans with roommates, other residents, and guests.
6. BE A GOOD WITNESS. Describe exactly what you observe with as many details as possible. Give complete descriptions such as sex, race, height, weight, hair color, clothing, etc.
