Off Campus Sexual Assault

On Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 8 p.m., a female Tulane student was walking on Broadway Street towards Claiborne Avenue when an unknown male subject approached her from behind, threw her to the lawn, and sexually assaulted her. A witness observed the attack and shouted at the suspect that he was calling the police and the suspect fled the area towards Claiborne Avenue.

NOPD and TUPD are searching the area for the subject. A nearby camera captured a photo of the subject.

The subject is described as a black or Hispanic male, dark complexion, 5'7", 150 lbs., thin build, skinny blue jeans, white t-shirt, low haircut and armed with a semi-automatic handgun (blue steel in color).
