Procedure

As soon as an employee knows he/she is leaving Loyola University New Orleans, the Department Manager should be notified. The Manager, in turn, should notify Human Resources and submit the resignation letter and a PNF indicating the date of termination and the reason.

Exiting employees will receive their final pay including payment for earned vacation as soon as administratively practical, usually on the payday following the last day of work, but no later than 15 days following termination date. In order to meet this deadline, the department head must submit the exiting employee’s PNF, time sheet and letter of resignation, if applicable, to the Human Resources Department preferably in advance of, but not later than, the day of termination.

A Checklist for Exiting Employees should be completed by the Department Manager and submitted to the Human Resources Department at the time of termination.
